Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) flown by the U.S. Military and Central Intelligence Agency have killed and maimed thousands of people—including innocent men, women, and children—in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, and Libya. Most of these countries are far from any battlefield where U.S. troops are engaged, yet The Bureau of Investigative Journalism and others have documented hundreds of U.S. drone attacks in them.
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have issued reports questioning the legality of the US drone program and demanding transparency stating, “Secrecy surrounding the drones program gives the US administration a license to kill beyond the reach of the courts or basic standards of international law. . . . What hope for redress can there be for victims of the drone attacks and their families when the USA won’t even acknowledge its responsibility for particular strikes?”
Stand with us opposing CIA and U.S. Military drones used in extra-judicial killings. U.S. killer drone strikes are not only illegal and immoral, but they are counterproductive and must stop now!
