Network for Spiritual Progressives (NSP) says that in the face of Congress’s failure to take a strong stance on ending the occupation of Iraq, improving healthcare, or doing much of anything to change the status quo, many of us are feeling depressed and cynical about the possibility of real substantive political change for the better. NSP is proposing that we begin building an alternative presence within the political parties, one that is committed to a new bottom line of love and caring, kindness and generosity, ethical and ecological sensitivity, the ability to experience other people as embodiments of the sacred and to respond to the universe with awe, wonder, and radical amazement. Consider running as a delegate to the national convention of your party; and/or help NSP start a spiritual caucus in your local party unit.
