Close the School of the Americas!

The School of the Americas (SOA) is an abomination, funded by our tax dollars, which must be closed. The SOA trained the officers who led the El Mozote massacre, those who killed the six Jesuits at the University of Central America in San Salvador and those who assassinated Archbishop Oscar Romero and so many thousands of others throughout Central and South America. Long before the public revelations of U.S. torture in Iraq and Afghanistan, we knew that the School of the Americas was teaching torture and assassination to the militaries of Central and South America. Recently, instructors at the school have been arrested for providing security and troops for the Columbian drug cartel.
