Keynote Address:
Marc Heisterkamp , U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings/Portfolio Initiatives Program. As communities of faith we are responsible to make our buildings have as little of an impact on creation as possible. Learn from Marc what options are available, everything from lighting to heating, in greening your building and how to afford them so even the stingiest board member will be excited about the green process.

Stories from the Field:
Learn what other faith communities have done to protect creation.

Getting Started/ Sustaining Your Sustainability Efforts:
Allison Fisher of GWIPL will help you start and/ or re-invigorate efforts to reduce your house of worship’s footprint.

Public Policy and Grassroots Action:
Clair Douglas of Chesapeake Climate Action Network will walk attendees through key legislative priorities in MD, DC, and VA and help you gain support for these initiatives in your congregation.

Food and Faith:
Wonder what food has to do with global warming and our faith? Christine Gutleben and Gowri Koneswaran, of the Humane Society of the United States, will discuss the environmental impact of our food choices and how you can incorporate food into your congregational practices that both significantly reduces animal suffering and reduces green house gas emissions.
