Death Penalty Resources from Pax Christi USA
The National Weekend of Faith in Action on the Death Penalty (NWFA) from October 19-21 is an opportunity for faith communities, interfaith groups, human rights activists, and others to examine the death penalty from a faith- based or values-based perspective. In a survey of Pax Christi USA local groups from a few years back, the death penalty was the issue that the largest number of groups was working on.
Pax Christi USA offers three resources that may be useful: a prayer card by Sr. Helen Prejean; an informational brochure (“Sentenced to Die, Still Children of God“) in conjunction with Catholics Against Capital Punishment; and an informational packet (“Breaking the Cycle of Violence“).
